Theme: “Why We Vote”
With the newly minted “Jungle Primary” slated for August 16 and the Ranked Choice Voting General Election on November 8,
Alaskan Republicans have lost their court-won victory several years ago to pick their candidate in a semi-closed primary.
Now, thanks to Proposition 2, it’s every candidate for themselves. How do we, as voters in the Great State of Alaska,
navigate these new voting waters? How can we organize? What does it mean to vote, anyway?
Why is it still important to vote for Republican candidates and what does being a Republican mean anymore?
Let’s explore these questions together and build a party we can all agree on and
participate in as we select candidates with platforms we can support.
